Afghan forces push back Taliban attacks in Kunduz, killing 13 militants

MAZAR-I-SHARIF -- Afghan forces repelled coordinated Taliban attacks Wednesday (November 14) on security posts in Qala-e-Zal District, Kunduz Province, killing at least 13 militants, the 209th Shaheen Corps of Afghan National Army said in a statement Thursday (November 15).

The clashes broke out in Tapa-e-Afghan Mazar and Tapa-e-Antan areas of the district, lasting for hours, said the statement.

Among those killed in the firefight were four local Taliban commanders, while 16 militants were wounded.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
