KABUL -- An engineering team from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) foiled a potential bombing plot in Kabul city Monday (November 26) after police discovered an improvised mortar round placed near a checkpoint, Kabul police said in a statement Monday (November 26).
The mortar was connected to a mobile phone, said police, adding that the checkpoint was situated near Abdul Haq Square, Kabul police district no. 9.
