Joint operations kill at least 72 Taliban militants in Ghazni

GARDEZ -- Afghan forces, aided by air support from NATO's Resolute Support Mission, killed at least 72 Taliban fighters during various operations in Ghazni Province, the 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Wednesday (December 5).

Troops arrested 17 militants during the operations in Nawa, Gilan and Khogyani districts, said the statement, without providing details on the timing.

Among those killed were 40 members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), added the statement.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
