Salaam Times

FARAH -- A coalition air strike killed at least 20 militants in the Karez Shikhan area of Farah city, Farah Province, Ariana News reported Thursday (December 13).

Among those killed was a senior Taliban commander, identified as Mawlawi Abdul Aziz, according to Mohibullah Mohib, the spokesman for Farah's provincial police.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.

On November 24, Gen. Austin Scott Miller, the commander of NATO's Resolute Support Mission and US Forces in Afghanistan, visited Farah and conferred with local security leaders, reiterating that coalition forces would continue to support Afghan forces in their fight against militants.
