LAGHMAN -- Two premature explosions in Laghman and Kunar provinces killed at least one Taliban militant and wounded three others, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Friday (December 14).

The first incident took place Thursday (December 13) in Alingar District, Laghman Province, as militants were preparing to plant a roadside bomb on Alingar's main road, said the statement.

The bomb exploded before the militants expected, killing one and wounding another, it said.

Separately, two Taliban members were wounded Thursday while attempting to plant a roadside bomb in the Zorbrawal area of Dangam District, Kunar Province, according to the same statement.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
