Coalition air strike kills senior Taliban leader in Herat

HERAT -- A coalition air strike killed a senior Taliban leader in Herat Province, Khaama Press reported Monday (December 17), citing local officials.

Mullah Ghulam Sakhi, the Taliban's shadow education director for Herat Province, was killed in Farsi District, according to Jilani Farhad, spokesman for the Herat provincial governor.

At least four other militants were also killed, Farhad said, without providing the exact timing of the strike.
