Over 1,000 Taliban killed in coalition air strikes in less than 2 months

KABUL -- Coalition air strikes have killed an estimated 1,089 Taliban fighters, including nine commanders, since November 9 this year, TOLOnews reported Friday (December 28), citing undated figures from the US Air Force.

More than 440 air strikes were conducted against the Taliban militants in less than two months across Afghanistan, according to figures from coalition forces.

Growing military pressure has recently caused significant fatalities among the Taliban militants, said the Interior Ministry.

"Recently, offensive operations on Afghanistan's enemies have increased by 100 percent in different parts of the country, which have had good results," said Interior Ministry deputy spokesman Nusrat Rahimi. "In every week, dozens of commanders of Afghanistans enemies are being killed."
