Car bombing rocks Green Village in Kabul

KABUL -- A car bomb exploded near a heavily fortified foreign compound in Kabul on Monday (January 14).

Dozens of casualties were reported.

Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, which shook the city.

Militants targeted Green Village, situated near a busy road in the east of the city and where some foreign workers are based, said Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish.

The explosion happened in the early evening, when traffic is normally heavy.
