KABUL -- Afghan forces from the General Command of Police Special Units and Afghan National Police carried out a joint operation Tuesday (January 15) in Bala Buluk District, Farah Province, killing the Taliban's shadow governor for the district, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Wednesday (January 16).
"Mullah Juma, the Taliban's shadow district governor for Bakwa District of western Farah Province [was] killed along with five others, including a local commander of Taliban militants, during an overnight joint clearance operation," said the statement.
Six Taliban militants were wounded and no civilians harmed, said the statement.
