Afghan air strikes kill 7 Taliban fighters in Kunduz

MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan air strikes killed at least seven Taliban militants in Kunduz Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Wednesday (March 13).

The strikes hit a Taliban convoy led by Mullah Alawuddin, also known as Wasiq, Wednesday at about 12.30am in Khanabad District, said the statement.

The militants were en route to the Khwaja Pesta area when they were hit, the statement added.

Alawuddin, a key Taliban commander for the district, was among those killed, it added.
