Afghan forces kill 2 Taliban fighters in Kunduz, Badakhshan

MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan air and ground forces killed two Taliban fighters and wounded two others in Kunduz and Badakhshan provinces, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Monday (March 25).

An air strike Sunday (March 24) killed a Taliban fighter and wounded another in Kanam village of Kunduz city, said the statement, adding that they were members of a faction loyal to deceased Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansoor.

Also on Sunday, Afghan artillery units killed a Taliban militant identified as Talha and injured another in Baharak District, Badakhshan Province, the statement said.
