JALALABAD -- Afghan forces rescued 24 civilians who were abducted by members of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in Nangarhar Province, the press office of the provincial governor said in a statement Monday (April 22).
The militants abducted 24 members of the Selozo tribe early Monday morning in Chaparhar District, the statement said.
At least three ISIS militants and one civilian were wounded during the rescue operation, it added. It did not specify whether Afghan forces captured any militants.
