ZABUL -- Afghan forces conducting an operation in Zabul Province rescued 53 captives in a Taliban prison, TOLOnews reported, citing a Defence Ministry statement released Friday (April 26).
The operation took place in Daychopan District, the ministry said, without providing the exact timing.
The rescuers killed eight Taliban militants, it added.
The rescued prisoners included four commandos and four police officers.
