URUZGAN -- Afghan special forces uncovered and destroyed an arms cache in Uruzgan Province, Khaama Press reported Monday (April 29), citing military sources.
The troops destroyed the weapons and explosives in Tirin Kot, the provincial capital, the report said.
The arms cache "included 16 pressure plate IEDs [improvised explosive devices], two suicide vests, 12 rockets with boosters and 161 DShk machine guns", according to the report.
Separately, on Saturday (April 27), at least seven "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) terrorists were killed and three others wounded when the IED they were planting exploded prematurely in Kunar Province, according to a statement from the Afghan National Army.
The dead included two ISIS explosives specialists, the statement said.
