HERAT -- An air strike killed Taliban leader Abdul Rahman along with 11 insurgents in Chesht District, Herat Province, the 207th Zafar Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Wednesday (May 1).
Rahman, also known as Maldaar, was in charge of the Taliban's military operations in Chesht District, the statement said.
At least three militants were wounded it added, without saying when the air strike occurred.
The Taliban had no immediate comment.
