MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan forces killed 18 Taliban militants, including three local commanders, in Samangan Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Thursday (May 2).
That operation took place Wednesday (May 1) in Ruyi Du Ab District, said the statement.
Security forces arrested 11 Taliban fighters and seized weapons and a vehicle belonging to the militants, it added.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
