KABUL -- President Ashraf Ghani and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday (May 5) in a phone conversation discussed the Afghan peace process and regional economy, the Afghan Presidential Palace said in a statement on Sunday.

Ghani accepted Khan's invitation to visit Pakistan to further discuss the issue, said the statement, adding that both sides will work to set a date for the visit.

US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad welcomed the co-operation between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"Both leaders say they prize the economic dividend peace can bring, especially the potential gains from regional connectivity and integration. That's a common vision that can truly propel the region forward," he said.
