HERAT -- Afghan commandos killed six Taliban fighters in a special operation in Farah Province, the 207th Zafar Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Wednesday (May 8).
The operation took place Tuesday (May 7) in Ganehkan and Waraj villages on the outskirts of the provincial capital of Farah, the army said.
A Taliban local commander, identified as Asad, was among those killed, it added.
At least eight more militants were wounded.
