2 Pakistani ISIS members, family members surrender in Nangarhar

JALALABAD -- Two Pakistani members of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS), along with their families, surrendered to local authorities in Nangarhar Province, the press office of the provincial governor said in a statement Thursday (May 16).

The two militants had been fighting the Afghan government for the past year and a half in Achin District, the statement said, citing Nangarhar Provincial Governor Shah Mahmood Miakhil.

The ISIS members are originally from Punjab Province, it said, adding that the families of the fighters included three women and nine children.
