KANDAHAR -- At least nine Taliban militants were killed in Kandahar Province in a joint operation by police and National Directorate of Security personnel, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Monday (May 20).
The operation took place Sunday evening (May 19) in the Karezkai area of Shah Wali Kot District, the ministry said.
Afghan forces destroyed two hideouts and several vehicles in addition to explosives and weapons belonging to the militants, it added.
