KABUL -- Afghan special police killed at least seven members of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in an operation in Kunar Province, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Wednesday (May 22).
The operation took place Tuesday (May 21) evening in Chambil village of Nurgal District, said the statement. An ISIS commander in charge of 20 fighters, identified as Mukhlis, was among those killed.
Troops seized weapons and equipment belonging to the militants, the statement added.
