LAGHMAN -- Afghan commandos, backed by coalition forces, killed at least five members of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in an operation in Kunar Province, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement Thursday (May 23).
The operation took place Wednesday (May 22) evening in the Titak area of Nurgal District, said the statement.
Afghan special police killed seven ISIS members in Chambil village in the same district Tuesday (May 21).
