MAIDAN WARDAK -- At least 12 Taliban insurgents were killed and six others were wounded in a clash with police in Maidan Wardak Province, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday (May 29).
The fighting erupted Tuesday (May 28) night on the Maidan Shahr-Jalrez road, the ministry said.
A local Taliban commander, identified as Saddam, was among those killed, it added.
