KABUL -- Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF) recaptured Khwaja Omari District in Ghazni Province from the Taliban, the Defence Ministry said in a statement Friday (June 7).
The Taliban controlled the district for a year, said the statement.
Officials did not provide further details about the operation.
The announcement came days after Afghan forces took control of Deh Yak District in the same province.
That district had been under Taliban influence for two years, the ministry said in a statement May 27.
