MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- Afghan commandos killed the Taliban shadow governor of Andkhoy District, Faryab Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) said in a statement on Tuesday (July 2).
The militant, identified as Mullah Ran Muhammad, was killed along with nine other insurgents on Tuesday, the ANA said.
Clearance operations are continuing in the district, it added.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
