PARWAN -- A group of residents in Parwan Province Wednesday (August 21) set a Taliban stronghold on fire, forcing the militants to flee the area, TOLOnews reported, citing a local official.
The incident took place in Qala-e-Qorhir village, Shinwari District, said Wahida Shahkar, a spokesperson for the Parwan governor.
A number of weapons and explosives were destroyed, she said.
The Taliban did not immediately comment.
