KANDAHAR -- Police in Kandahar Province said on Tuesday (September 3) they killed two would-be suicide bombers who were targeting a wedding ceremony in Dand District.
"Kandahar Police killed 2 Taliban suicide bombers last night who wanted to harm innocent Afghans celebrating a wedding," Kandahar Police Chief Maj. Gen. Tadeen Khan Achakzai said in a tweet. "I am proud of the Police as they keep Afghans in Kandahar safe."
On August 17, a suicide bomber affiliated with"Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) targeted a packed Afghan wedding hall in west Kabul, killing at least 80 and wounding almost 200 others.
