MAZAR-E-SHARIF -- An Afghan air strike killed at least eight Taliban militants and wounded five others in Balkh Province, the 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army said in a statement on Thursday (October 3).
The strike hit the militants on Thursday around 9am in the Asyab Sharaaf area of Chamtal District, the army said in the statement.
A similar air strike on September 29 killed the Taliban shadow governor for the district.
