NANGARHAR -- Security forces killed a potential suicide bomber Friday (June 8) before he was able to detonate his explosives in Nangarhar Province, the provincial government media office said in a statement.
The attacker entered a house in the 4th police district in Jalalabad city, fatally shooting two civilians, the statement said.
He then attacked the neighbouring guesthouse of Fraidoon Momand, a representative from Nangarhar in the Wolesi Jirga (lower house of parliament), gunning down a police officer before being shot dead.
Security forces have arrested a suspect in connection with the incident, the statement added.
No group immediately claimed responsibility.
