Afghan forces kill at least 21 Taliban militants in Kapisa

KAPISA -- Afghan forces killed at least 21 Taliban militants and wounded 14 others in a joint operation in Kapisa Province, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) said in a statement Thursday (September 27).

Last Saturday (September 22), the army, Afghan National Police, ANA special forces, Afghan Local Police (ALP), Public Order Police, National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces and the local uprising forces launched operations Qahr-e-Silab 3/11 in Tagab District, said the statement.

Three Taliban commanders identified as Ijaz ul Haq, also known as Osama, Qari Hashmat, and Abdul Rahman were among those killed in the operations, the statement said.

The Taliban did not immediately comment.
