KUNDUZ -- Fighting in Kunduz and Faryab provinces killed eight security personnel and 18 militants, officials said, according to media.
A militant attack on a check-point in Kunduz city killed six police officers Sunday (March 5), Afghanistan Times reported, quoting provincial police chief Gen. Abdul Hamid Hamidi.
Troops killed 18 militants in a battle in Imam Sahib District, Kunduz Province, said the Ministry of Interior (MoI), according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).
In Faryab Province, the police chief of Almar District and a local security force commander were killed in separate incidents, TOLO News and RFE/RL reported. The police chief was killed by a bomb Saturday (March 4), for which the Taliban took responsibility.
