Taliban commander arrested in Germany

KABUL -- A fugitive Taliban commander accused of killing coalition and Afghan troops was arrested in Bavaria, Germany, on March 23, the Afghanistan Times reported Wednesday (March 29), quoting German media.

Abdullah is accused of involvement in killing 16 troops in Afghanistan, German media reported.

He became a Taliban commander in 2004, sources said. The year of the troops' death was not reported. He reached Germany in 2011 after quitting the Taliban in 2008, according to Bayerischer Rundfunk.
