NANGARHAR -- A Taliban mortar attack Thursday (July 6) wounded at least 14 Afghans, including women and children, in a market in Ghani Khel District, Nangarhar Province, Khaama Press reported, quoting local officials.

At least six injured are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Afghan and coalition forces launched another operation this week against the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in Haska Mina District, Nangarhar Province, the Voice of America (VOA) Dari service reported.

Afghan troops reached areas that had been off limits to them for 12 years, said local officials, according to VOA Dari.

The offensive comes after Afghan forces defeated ISIS in Tora Bora, also in Nangarhar.
