NANGARHAR -- Security forces Monday (June 11) foiled a potentially devastating attack in Nangarhar Province, the provincial government's media office said in a statement.
A suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the provincial education department in Jalalabad before security forces killed two other militants, the statement said.
Security forces also defused a nearby vehicle packed with explosives before it could be detonated.
At least 13 people were wounded in the suicide bombing, according to the statement.
No militant group immediately claimed responsibility, but local officials blamed the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS).
