KABUL -- President Ashraf Ghani Thursday (June 28) condemned a bomb attack on a peace gathering in Logar Province, Pajwhok Afghan News reported.
A bomb killed at least eight civilians and wounded four others at a gathering calling for peace in Charkh District of Logar Province earlier Thursday. No group immediately claimed responsibility.
The peace activists were seeking coexistence, brotherhood and unity, said Ghani in a statement from his office.
"Peace has now turned into a basic demand of the whole nation, and it has become a public and national will; anyone who stands against this national will is failed and ashamed," he said.
