69 Afghan militants, 9 troops, 4 civilians killed

KABUL -- At least 69 Afghan militants, nine troops and four civilians were killed recently and three Afghan doctors kidnapped in recent violence nationwide.

Afghan troops killed at least 69 militants in a 24-hour span nationwide, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said July 14, according to the Afghanistan Times. Nine Afghan soldiers were killed, the MoD said.

Meanwhile, the Taliban recently killed four wedding guests in Sar Hawza District, Paktika Province, provincial police chief Maj. Gen. Khalilullah Ziayee said July 15, according to TOLO News.

The militants invaded a wedding party and killed four persons whom they falsely accused of having ties to the government, Ziayee said.

The Taliban in Seyyad District, Sar-e-Pul Province, recently kidnapped three Afghan doctors working for the Red Crescent, Sar-e-Pul governor's spokesman Zabiullah Amani told Pajhwok Afghan News July 14.

The doctors were treating residents of Aho village when the Taliban abducted them, Amani said.
