BAGHLAN -- Security forces broke a militant siege and freed at least 200 soldiers trapped on Qarghan Hill in Baghlan Province, while three Afghan soldiers were killed in a Taliban attack in Uruzgan Province, media reported.
The Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF) ended the siege of Qarghan Hill October 12 and freed 200 Afghan troops trapped on the hill, Ministry of Interior (MoI) spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said, according to Khaama Press.
Forces are advancing toward the Dand-e-Shahabuddin area, Sediqqi added.
Meanwhile, three Afghan soldiers were killed in another clash with militants in Deh Rahwood District, Uruzgan Province, a security official at district police headquarters told Pajhwok Afghan News October 12.
