FARAH PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- A district governor was among four people killed in militant attacks in Farah and Laghman provinces, officials confirmed.
A remote-controlled roadside bomb killed Abdul Khaliq Noorzai, the governor of Khak-e-Safid District, Farah Province, Tuesday (February 7), provincial police spokesman Iqbal Baher said, according to TOLO News.
Noorzai was walking home from a mosque when the bomb went off, Baher said. The Taliban claimed responsibility.
A rocket attack Monday (February 6) killed two women and a child on the outskirts of Mehtarlam, Laghman Province, Khaama Press reported.
The rocket, reportedly fired by the Taliban, slammed into a civilian house, Laghman governor's spokesman Sarhadi Zwak said.
