Pakistani forces kill 25 militants, make hundreds of arrests

ISLAMABAD -- Security forces killed at least 25 militants nationwide, media reported.

Troops killed eight terrorists in a shoot-out in Karachi Wednesday (February 22), SAMAA reported. The eight were members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and included Gul Zaman, the TTP chief for Tank District, said Senior Superintendent of Police Rao Anwar.

Five terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Islam and the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) were killed in air strikes in Khyber Agency Tuesday (February 21), said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Air strikes in the Wacha Bibi area, North Waziristan, killed eight militants, Dawn reported Tuesday (February 21). Troops killed four TTP members in Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), added Dawn.

Security forces arrested 250 suspects in Swabi District, KP, Dawn reported Tuesday. Police in Punjab Province arrested 15 suspects Wednesday (February 22), Geo News reported.
