Afghan forces kill 28 ISIL militants in Nangarhar

KABUL – Security forces killed at least 28 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) militants in Nangarhar Province and arrested two suspected Taliban Quetta Shura (Council) members in Kandahar Province, Khaama Press reported Wednesday (April 26).

Troops killed the ISIL members as part of Operation Hamza in Achin District, said the Nangarhar government press office.

The National Directorate of Security reported nabbing two alleged members of the Quetta Shura in Kandahar, adding that they had orders to carry out terrorist attacks in the provincial capital.
