KABUL -- Afghan troops re-opened the Baghlan-to-Mazar-e-Sharif highway after driving off Taliban insurgents who forced its closure Tuesday (May 23) night, TOLO News reported Wednesday (May 24).
The troops battled the militants, who had attacked several check-posts, for hours, said officials.
Casualties for either side were not reported.
