KUNDUZ -- Security forces cleared Imam Sahib District, Kunduz Province, of the Taliban, killing at least 80 militants, said officials Saturday (June 10).
Troops launched the operation three days ago, said Afghan special forces spokesman Jawed Salim, adding that three Afghan soldiers were killed.
Air strikes in Nahr-e-Saraj District, Helmand Province, killed eight Taliban militants and destroyed a Taliban bomb factory, said local government officials, Khaama Press reported Sunday (June 11).
