JALALABAD -- Fifteen Nangarhar Province officials were sentenced to prison on corruption charges, Pajhwok Afghan News reported Thursday (August 17), quoting a Nangarhar appellate court.
The sentences ranged from one year to four years. The defendants included a former police chief.
Meanwhile in Kunduz Province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested Lt. Col. Syed Anwar Sadaat, the official in charge of security at the Kunduz city airport, in connection with alleged corruption in development work at the airport, according to another Thursday report by Pajhwok Afghan News.
