KABUL -- Two senior Taliban leaders have told Reuters that the group has decided not to participate in the upcoming talks on the peace process in Oman, Khaama Press reported Thursday (October 12).
The talks on the Afghan peace process are scheduled to kick off in Muscat on October 16. The United States, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China are expected to send representatives.
The Taliban's leadership council decided Tuesday (October 10) that it would not send a delegation to Muscat even if the group was invited, the senior Taliban leaders told Reuters on the condition of anonymity.
