KABUL -- Afghan security forces have arrested another suspected would-be suicide bomber accused of attempting to reach a target in or near Kabul, said the Interior Ministry.
Afghan National Police detained a suspect on an explosives-laden bicycle Tuesday (October 17) before he could reach a target in Chahar Asyab District, about 11km south of the capital, said a ministry statement.
Such incidents "demonstrate the ever-increasing capability of Afghan national security forces to protect the civilians from indiscriminate IED [improvised explosive device] attacks," the statement added.
In an earlier incident on October 16, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested two suspected would-be suicide bombers in Surobi District, Kabul Province, before they could carry out a car bombing in Kabul.
