NANGARHAR -- Afghan forces have killed at least four members of the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) during military operations in Nangarhar Province, Khaama Press reported Tuesday (December 19).
At least five militants were wounded in the fighting in Khogyani District, according to a statement from the provincial government media office in Nangarhar.
Troops cleared four villages of ISIS militants in the district, added the statement.
The battle occurred after Afghan security forces foiled a major attack claimed by ISIS on an intelligence agency training centre in Kabul Monday (December 18).
