KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- Afghan troops recently killed dozens of Taliban in fighting in Kunduz and Nangarhar provinces, media reported.
Troops August 20 in Khanabad District, Kunduz Province, killed at least 38 militants, while losing two of their own, provincial police spokesman Hejratullah Akbari told the Afghanistan Times.
On the same day, troops repulsed a Taliban attack on Aliabad District, Kunduz Province, Akbari said.
Meanwhile, Afghan forces recently killed and wounded 100 Taliban after the terrorist group attacked Hesarak District, Nangarhar Province, officials said August 21, according to the Afghanistan Times. A breakdown of killed and wounded militants was not given.
