Afghan forces push back militants from Farah city

KABUL -- Security forces pushed back militants from Farah city, the capital of the Farah province, media reported.

Taliban had launched attack on Farah city from four different directions late October 9, but security forces forced them to retreat, killing at least 27 insurgents, the Provincial Police Spokesman Ibal Bayer said, according to Afghanistan Times.

Meanwhile, clashes reported in Ghormach District of Faryab province, Pajhwok Afghan News reported October 11.

"A number of Afghan security personnel and 11 Taliban militants were killed in Ghormach clashes," the source said.
