47 Afghan militants, 7 civilians killed

KABUL -- Afghan forces killed at least 47 militants recently, officials said, according to media.

The troops killed at least 21 militants in Khwaja Sabz Posh District, Faryab Province, the 209th Shaheen Military Corps said in a statement November 1, according to TOLO News.

Meanwhile, in two districts in Kunar Province, 19 insurgents, including an Egyptian, were killed in recent fighting, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said November 1, according to Khaama Press.

Troops killed another four insurgents in Ghor Province, the MoD added.

Security forces October 31 killed at least two Taliban in Shinwari District, Parwan Province, while a militant November 1 was killed by his own explosives in the same district, Public Order Police Commander Col. Muhammad Haroon Mubariz said November 1, according to Pajhwok Afghan News.

In other news, a roadside bomb recently killed seven civilians in Syedkhel District, Parwan Province, Ahmad Lamar Usmanyar, a local administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News November 1.

The civilians were travelling to a wedding in Kapisa Province when their vehicle hit a land mine, Usmanyar said, adding that the dead included a village elder.
