Militants killed by own explosives in Afghanistan

KUNAR, Afghanistan -- At least seven militants -- five members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and a Taliban commander -- were killed by their own explosives or by Afghan forces recently in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces, Khaama Press reported Monday (December 19).

The five LeT members died recently when their explosives went off accidentally in Asmar District, Kunar Province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said.

Afghan special forces late Sunday (December 18) killed a Taliban commander and another insurgent in Chaparhar District, Nangarhar Province, the provincial police said.
